THUNDER BAY — Another summer is almost in the books as some splash pads across the city are getting ready to close at the end of the long weekend.
After Labour Day Monday, both Franklin Street Park and the North End Park splash pads will be closing for the season. The County Park, Northwood Playfield and Prince Arthur’s Landing splash pads will stay open until mid-September. They will then close for the season on Sept. 17. City officials said staff will perform maintenance at the sites to prepare them for next year's reopening.
