The commissioners heard directly from people in the community about their experiences with the child protection system. “One of the elders as well talked a lot about her experiences living on the land, and how healthy people were, and their families, when they were all helping each other when they were nomadic people. Then to come into the community, and to experience so much trauma and colonization, and where it has led them to.
