Winners of SportNL's 2022 provincial awards will be announced on April 29 at the Sheraton Hotel Newfoundland. - ContributedST. JOHN'S, N.L. — Sport Newfoundland and Labrador has announced the finalists for its annual provincial awards event to be held on April 29 at the Sheraton Hotel Newfoundland.
The event will recognize the outstanding performances and contributions of athletes, coaches, teams, executives, officials and volunteers within the sports community from the province for their accomplishments in 2022.The finalists were nominated by their provincial sports organizations and were selected based on voting results from a committee of sports and media professionals.
SportNL board president, Chris Schwartz, expressed appreciation for the awards committee's role in selecting the finalists. “The past year included many highlights and achievements for many Newfoundland and Labrador sport individuals who were nominated within their categories,” said Schwartz. “The finalists selected by the awards committee are no exception.”
