'Bous aiming to become first N.L. team to win since Grand Falls-Windsor Cataracts in 2017
Earlier in the week, Clarenville defeated the Hamilton Steelers 4-3 and edged the Innisfail, Alta., Eagles 3-2.5 p.m. in Newfoundland and streaming through a Caribous' live serviceIt’s the first Allan Cup final for a Clarenville team since back-to-back appearances in 2013 and 2014 — finishing second — and the team’s first time competing in the tourney since 2015 when they hosted at the Eastlink Events Centre.
Clarenville won it all in 2011, becoming only the second Newfoundland team after the 1986 Corner Brook Royals to hoist the trophy. The last Newfoundland and Labrador team to win the Allan Cup was the Grand Falls-Windsor Cataracts in 2017.
