The schools in the Peel region have been threatened by an anonymous author of a social media post shared on Reddit.
Six schools in Peel region are adding safety measures and a police presence after an online threat to “shoot up” the schools on Friday was made in a social media post.
“Since being aware of this threat, our school staff, the school board’s Security staff, the school board’s School Support staff, and local police have been working collaboratively to ensure the safety of our students and staff,” Lam said in the letter. The five other schools named in the post are Holy Name of Mary Secondary School, Louise Arbour Secondary School, St. Thomas Aquinas Secondary School, Notre Dame Secondary School, and Ascension of Our Lord Secondary School.
Peel Regional Police said in an updated email statement Tuesday that the Youth Criminal Investigations Bureau is investigating.
