An OPP officer involved in the arrest fired an Anti-Riot Weapon Enfield at the man, striking him.Officers were investigating the man, who was wanted on multiple outstanding warrants and OPP spotted him on the 401 in Oshawa around 1 p.m. Monday.
Police chased the man and he was arrested near the 401 and the Farewell Street/Harmony Road off-ramp.The man was taken to hospital and although he wasn’t seriously hurt, the Special Investigations Unit has been called in because a police officer discharged an ARWEN, which is considered a firearm.
