Wednesday will be an old fashioned rainy day in our region which extends into Wednesday night. Thursday has a scattering of leftover showers in the area or a isolated thunderstorm. still west into Mexico .For our part, we will still feel the influence of this storm as it has a large wind field and expansive area of rain around the large circulation. A large Flood Watch covers South Texas and San Antonio too. Flooding risk in and around San Antonio will be more typical urban flooding issues with ponding on roads, construction zones and poor drainage areas will likely see some ponding as well. We'll keep an eye on low-water crossings too. As for the Wednesday commutes, the morning should be just fine but our eastern zone counties will be soggy. The lunch hour and certainly the ride home could be slow and messy with widespread rain and a few tropical downpours possible.
Winds will be gusty through the day sustained from the northeast 15 - 25mph with occasional gusts to 35mph or higher possible. Tropical Storm Warnings are in effect along the Texas coast where gusts over 40mph will be likely along with heavy rain. Temperatures will be much cooler as well for a couple days in the 70s and 80s instead of a typical high closer to 93 degrees.
