One of the officers approached the vehicle, and when Peters rolled down the driver's side window, a strong smell of alcohol came from the vehicle. Peters admitted to police that he was impaired and a suspended driver. Peters also showed signs of impairment and was unable to walk in a straight line, said Murphy.
"He's struggling, but he's at least acknowledging now that there is a problem that needs to be addressed," Cheverie said.
