The Jersey actor and singer finishes a lively season that brought her back to music.
Two decades on, some of them are married, some have kids, and Jill is struggling to come out as gay.“I see some things haven’t changed,” Jill says, surveying the younger artist’s situation. “Just a bunch of straight men shaping the image of a young, impressionable artist.”
The Jersey talent and her fellow cast members’ music industry backgrounds lend the series a certain credibility.. Then, Naughton got the offer to play Jill and heard Brandy could join the cast. They had a mutual friend, so they got in touch. The women of “Queens” have their problems with each other and themselves, and the series drama can get dicey . Ultimately, however, they always return to each other with love.
“It does emphasize sisterhood at any age,” Naughton says. “Particularly the fact that Queens is four women of color.
