Tropical Storm Debby is back over water in the Atlantic Ocean and slow strengthening is possible before its next expected landfall in South Carolina .Tropical Storm Debby is moving slowly east at five mph. Debby 's next landfall is still almost a day away.The worst of the weather will be possible now through Thursday with conditions slowly improving by Friday.After landfall, the system will pick up speed over North Carolina and quickly travel northeast.

From today through Friday, most of the area will pick up roughly six to eight additional inches of rain. Isolated spots could receive up to 10 inches.Multiple river gauges are expected to reach flood stage. Some of them are forecast to reach major flood levels.Gusts will range from 20-30 mph on Wednesday but are expected to be a bit stronger on Thursday as Debby makes landfall. Winds could gust as high as 35-45 mph later Thursday and possibly early Friday.
