After an unusual winter heat wave, cooler weather hit the SF Bay Area on Monday. But when will it rain?
Patchy fog blanketed the Bay Area Monday morning, with visibility sitting at a half-mile in some parts of the North Bay. The cloudy conditions helped push down temperatures that had soared above 80 degrees in some spots last week. Monday afternoon highs across the region will range from the 60s to low 70s, the National"Today is going to feel much cooler than the past few days," Matt Mehle, a forecaster with the weather service, said.
Offshore winds, pushing the cool air over the ocean inland, are forecast to remain breezy through Monday night, the weather service said. But on Tuesday, onshore winds are expected to return, lingering through the week and blowing hot, dry air back into the region. The offshore winds will heighten fire risk and push temperatures back up by mid-week.
"Temperatures will get to above normal but they won't be as high as they were last week," Mehle said.
