The New York Yankees and Houston Astros continue their weekend series on Saturday night at Minute Maid Park.
At 66-69, the Yankees can salvage a little pride with a 15-12 finish to end up with a .500 record at 81-81, or go 16-12 to get to 82 victories and a 31st consecutive winning season.Manager Aaron Boone wouldn’t go there when he was asked that question prior to Saturday night’s game at Minute Maid Park.
“I don’t even look at it that like that right now,” Boone said. “I get asked about it. I’m aware of where we are, 66-69. Of course you want to finish strong, but I also feel like that’s four weeks away. “I’m worried about today and making sure as a team we’re in the best possible place we can be and preparing the right way and competing with a lot on the line. That’s as far as ahead as I try and get it.”
