A Wisconsin man has been sentenced to federal prison for the 2021 kidnapping of a 16-year-old Alabama girl that prompted an Amber Alert.
Iziquel Pasheng Vang, 23, received a 30-year sentence for kidnapping and carjacking, according to a Tuesday announcement by Middle District of Alabama U.S. Attorney Sandra J. Stewart. The judge also ordered that Vang serve five years of supervised release once his prison term is complete. In 2021, according to Vang’s plea agreement and other court records, Vang was living in Alabama’s Wiregrass area.
In early May of 2021, Vang began watching the girl’s house, authorities said. Then, on May 9, 2021, Vang entered the home and threatened the girl and her mother with a gun. Law enforcement in southern Georgia spotted Vang and the victim in the stolen vehicle and attempted to pull them over. Vang refused to stop.
