The competition will be open to Canadian and international producers, with a special class of judging occurring for the Canadian wine industry.One of the city’s most interesting pancake breakfasts occurred Thursday morning, with the Beast of the East Stampede Breakfast taking centre stage at Unity Park, 3117 – 17 Ave. S.E.

The diverse celebration was made possible thanks to International Avenue merchants Litco Law and Forest Lawn Co-op. The event is all about “a little bit of country and a whole lot of the world, in one Stampede breakfast,” organizers say. If you’re ready for more pancakes, the Stampede’s Caravan Committee is at two locations Friday with its pancake breakfast: McKenzie Towne Hall and Deerfoot City Shopping Centre, from 9 to 11 a.m.For more than five decades, the Calgary Stampede Showband has been dazzling audiences at home and abroad with its music and moves. The band has won rave reviews around the world and is a six-time World Champion of Marching Show Bands. Stampede goers don’t have to travel far to see them perform, however.

The dogs were tasked were moving three sheep through a course and getting them into a pen in less than four minutes. It was no problem for Bob, who won with a final round time of 1:42 — more than a minute ahead of the pup in second place.

Postmedia archives.A popular cooler/drinkware brand is again supporting rodeo at the Calgary Stampede this year. Yeti has enlisted cowboys and cowgirls, including Shad Mayfield, Stetson Wright, Statler Wright and Hailey Kinsel, as brand ambassadors. A Yeti booth on the grounds is also featuring drinkware customization, games , and an on-site artist creating a mural.
