A mom and dad were crossing the street carrying their 11-month-old Sunday morning, the man in the gray sweatshirt walking alongside them all of a sudden trying to snatch their child.Police say the suspect, Anthony McGee, seen walking down Euclid hit another woman with a glass bottle.That's when he goes for the couple's child and then he takes off and police say he attacked an 82-year-old woman down the street.
But this isn't the first time McGee has harassed people in the central west end according to Jim Whyte with the neighborhood security initiative. Washington University issued a safety memo with McGee's mugshot after two students were attacked, one punched in the face while walking on Big Bend just two weeks ago.He's wearing the same sweatshirt in this surveillance video from the central West End attacks and in the mugshot from St. Louis city police, where he now faces multiple charges including assault and kidnapping.
Whyte says across the region there is a need for more resources for the unhoused and those suffering from mental health issues.
