British prime minister Boris Johnson has struck a new Brexit deal with the EU, but with it comes a fresh set of challenges
Johnson and the EU have reached a deal, but getting it ratified is the next step: —the fight to get it ratified as well as warnings about its economic impact on the U.K.
Johnson is urging British lawmakers to vote for what he says is an “excellent deal” this weekend. He needs the support of 320 British lawmakers. British lawmakers will sit on Saturday—the first Saturday session in 37 years—to vote on the deal. If they don’t approve it, Johnson may be forced to ask Brussels for a Brexit delay, something which EU commission chief Jean-Claude Juncker has suggested he is against.
