Is this enough money for mentalheatlh services?
Watford General Hospital is set to receive a £350,000 boost to improve mental health facilities.
It comes in addition to £1.14 million that will be invested into Hertfordshire and West Essex mental health services - which will improve digital infrastructure, crisis cafés and safe spaces. These all provide a safe and supportive space for someone experiencing emotional distress or nearing a mental health crisis, and act as an alternative to A&E, including during out-of-hours.
The money will be put into 150 new projects as non-medical alternatives for urgent mental health care, and is part of £150 million being invested nationally.
