A 1-year-old girl was killed, and her two older siblings were hospitalized, after a domestic stabbing incident involving their father at their Virginia Beach home triggered an Amber Alert that ended in a police pursuit and deadly crash in Maryland.
Virginia State Police issued the alert early Thursday morning after 5-year-old Zayir Plummer, 7-year-old Zayin Plummer, and 16-month-old Zariyah Plummer were taken from a home on Jay Are Court Wednesday night by their father, 36-year-old Dana Demetrius Plummer.Police say prior to the abduction, Plummer stabbed the mother of the children and another young girl. He then took the children and fled in a black 2024 Honda Passport SUV with temporary plates 37550R.
The others remain hospitalized.Plummer was charged with two counts of aggravated malicious wounding, three counts of parental abduction, four counts of contributing to delinquency of a minor, and domestic assault. Maryland State Police and Virginia State Police are investigating. Drivers in the area of Camp Springs can expect delays into the afternoon.
