Virginia State Police issued an AMBER ALERT for three children they said were abducted from their Virginia Beach home.
AMBER ALERT issued out of Virginia Beach ended in a vehicle crash in Prince George's County, Maryland, Thursday morning according to a Maryland State Police spokesperson.Virginia State Police and the Virginia Beach Police Department issued an the around 2 a.m. for three children they said were abducted from their Virginia Beach home on Wednesday night.
According to VSP, three siblings — 5-year-old Zayin Plummer, 3-year-old Zayir Plummer, and 16-month-old Za’riyah Plummer — were believed to have been abducted by 36-year-old Dana Demetrius Plummer from their home in the 900 block of Jay Are Court around 9 p.m. after he allegedly stabbed their mother.
Officials said they were traveling in a black 2024 Honda Passport SUV with temporary Virginia tags: 37555OR. Jus before 9 a.m., VSP attempted to initiate a traffic stop on the suspect vehicle traveling northbound on Interstate 95 near the 166 mile marker in Fairfax County but VSP officials said the driver refused to stop and a pursuit was initiated.
The vehicle continued north on I-495 into Maryland, where the driver lost control and crashed near Exit 7.After the crash, one child was taken to an area hospital by helicopter while the other two children were taken by ambulance, according to MSP and Prince George's County Fire and EMS officials. The man was detained and it is unclear the conditions of all four people.
