“We hopped in the lifeguard truck and pulled up to the area where they spotted the dog. It’s probably about 200 to 300 yards offshore, just swimming straight out,” he recalled with little Tofu in his arms during the interview. “So I suited up in my wetsuit. Grab my paddleboard. And along with the help of Marine Safety officer Devon Beebe, she was using binoculars to kind of guide me to the area where Tofu was swimming.”
