Residents are advised to reduce their exposure to wildfire smoke Wednesday as Regina experiences 10+ air quality health index.
“Wildfire smoke can be harmful to everyone’s health even at low concentrations. Everyone can take action to reduce their exposure to wildfire smoke.”
As of Tuesday, there were 28 wildfires burning in the province. To date, Saskatchewan has had more than double the amount of wildfires typically seen at this time of year. The efforts from the school are part of a multi-year agreement signed in 2022 with the SPSA “to provide mutual aid and humanitarian support in the event of a provincial emergency,” Keshen said in the letter.
Keshen thanked staff who has been “putting in the extra time and effort to prepare for their arrival, and for the compassionate care you are showing to the families who have been forced to leave their homes unexpectedly.”
