RNC alleges Evan Long, 32, attacked a 57-year-old man in a targeted attack using more than one edged weapon

At 7:30 p.m. on March 3, the RNC was informed there was an injured man in the lobby of the detachment.An ambulance was called, and the man was taken to Western Memorial Regional Hospital and treated for serious injuries. He has since been released. As for a possible motive for the attack, Park said, “we can’t release that information due to the ongoing investigation.”
Park said the RNC has done extensive canvassing in the city, in particular in the areas of Elizabeth Street, Corporal Pinksen Memorial Drive, Mount Bernard Avenue, O’Connell Drive and the surrounding areas, and has been reviewing quite a bit of video that has been recovered. “If something stands out to someone and they’re not certain if this might be of use in the investigation, then by all means give us a call here at the RNC and we’ll have our investigators review that video and determine if it’s something of evidentiary value for us,” said Park.
An ambulance is called, and the 57-year-old man is taken to Western Memorial Regional Hospital with serious injuries.An investigation is launched with members of the criminal investigation division, operational services, and the forensic identification section taking part.
