Evan Long of Corner Brook has been charged with attempted murder following an altercation in the city Friday night which left another man with serious injuries.
The 57-year-old man was rushed to hospital after being attacked by a man wielding a knife-like weapon. The victim had first made his way to the lobby of the RNC detachment on University Avenue. The 32-year-old suspect was arrested in St. John’s yesterday and charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. He remains in custody with a bail hearing set for tomorrow.They’re asking anyone with information to contact them or Crime Stoppers.
