, two other health care unions have secured similar results in spite of a controversial wage cap bill.

Bill 124 capped pay bumps for certain public-sector employees at one per cent a year for three years.The government has been appealing that decision. However, according to an arbitrator, hospital workers who are members of the Canadian Union of Public Employees and SEIU Healthcare will receive an additional 3.75 per cent and 2.5 per cent in their paycheques over two years.

Arbitrator William Kaplan noted this would bring things more in line with the raises granted to power workers and federal public servants during that time period.Ctrl+Enter
