Following almost two years after Spider-Man: No Way Home came out, Tom Holland confirms that meetings for Spider-Man 4 have begun for his MCU return.
Tom Holland confirms that meetings for Spider-Man 4 have begun as the star is getting ready to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It has almost been two years since Spider-Man: No Way Home came out, which was one of the biggest Phase 4 films in the MCU. Not only did it wrap up Peter Parker's trilogy, but it also allowed the web-slinger to team up with Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire's Spider-Men as part of a larger multiverse adventure.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT While Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures haven't given a lot of updates on Holland's Spider-Man 4 project, the MCU veteran has offered some positive updates about his MCU return. In an interview with Variety, the British star revealed that meetings for Spider-Man 4 have been happening.
I can’t talk about that, but I can say that we have been having meetings. We’ve put the meetings on pause in solidarity with the writers. There’s been multiple conversations had, but at this point it’s very, very early stages.When MCU Spider-Man 4 Could Release Amid Writer's Strike Delays With no director attached or clear updates on where the Spider-Man 4 script was in terms of writing stages before the strike went into effect, time will tell when the sequel will actually be released.
Timing will depend on when the strike concludes, as it could go on for several more months until the WGA and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers agree on a deal. The longer it goes on, the further Spider-Man 4 gets delayed, especially if there wasn't a finished script beforehand. At this point, it would be wise to expect Spider-Man 4 no later than Phase 7 of the MCU, which would put it right after The Multiverse Saga. Of course, something could happen in Phase 6 as well.
Hopefully, whatever meetings Holland has been having with the studios about Spider-Man 4 will be just as exciting for MCU fans as it is for him. Given that Kevin Feige confirmed that Spider-Man and Daredevil would be representing the street-level heroes of the MCU, they clearly had plans for Holland and Charlie Cox to work together again, which is something many MCU fans have been wanting to see.
