Monahan started camp at wing on a line with centre Kirby Dach and prospect Jonathan Roy. On Wednesday night in his preseason debut against the Ottawa Senators at the Bell CentreFor Monahan, it will be his first action since Dec. 5 when he had to leave a game in Vancouver after playing at least three games on a broken foot. Compensating for the broken foot led to a groin injury that would require surgery.

“Mony’s ready to shoot,” the coach said. “So that could be a combination and we’re exploring everything.”
