He was also charged with stealing different cars at various times, including a taxi and a Nissan Altima he had been picked up in by police a few days before it was reported stolen. In that case, the RNC got a call in March 2021 that the car had been stolen from a business and ascertained that Murphy had been stopped in the car a few days before by police.
Also among the charges were various thefts and breaches of release orders, including threatening to set a Mount Pearl woman’s house on fire via social media and multiple thefts from Dominion on Blackmarsh Road. In one instance he stole a cart full of food and small appliances valued at approximately $1,300 and in another he drove off on a motorized shopping cart.
