.Pyermoss & Reebok collaborate on a collection with an important message
Almost two months after debuting on the runway at Kings Theater, some of the pieces from Pyer Moss' NYFW collection will be available for purchase as part of the brand's longstanding collaboration with Reebok. Available via two drops — on November 2 and in December — Collection 3: FIRST OFFERING will feature a selection of apparel and footwear.
A staple item of the collection is the Sankofa set, a colorful genderless bomber and track pant."Sankofa is a Twi word from the Akan tribe in Ghana that translates to 'Go back and get it' and is represented by a bird, artfully integrated into several key pieces in the collections, fetching an egg from its back," reads the press release from the sports giant.
A new collection from Moss'"American, Also" — a series honoring the contributions of Black Americans to pop culture and society — has been unveiled every season since the February 2018 show. The most recent one, titled"Sister," was named after Sister Rosetta Tharpe, one of the true originators of rock 'n' roll.
Along with the Sankofa pieces, plenty of versatile apparel items will be available to shop, including a cropped turtleneck bearing the designer's name on the neck, as well as stirrup leggings, a flowy jumpsuit-dress, and more. Prices start at $20 for socks and cap at $400 for the central Sankofa Bomber Jacket.
