Knuckles the Echidna just upgraded a move he first used in the Sega Genesis games during a random adventure in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series.
Warning: Spoilers for Sonic the Hedgehog #65Knuckles just brought back and expanded an iconic move he first debuted in the Sonic the Hedgehog video games. Similar to how Tails is able to carry Sonic, Knuckles uses his gliding ability in a recent comic during a side story with Amy Rose. Knuckles first showcased this and his climbing abilities when his character debuted in the Sonic & Knuckles video game for the Sega Genesis.
Now, when exploring Angel Island with Amy Rose in Sonic the Hedgehog #62 by story writer Ian Flynn, artist Thomas Rothlisberger, colorist Leonardo Ito and letterer Shawn Lee, the ground gives way beneath them. As they fall, Knuckles grabs hold of her and then glides away to safety.
