Francis led the Kraken to a Stanley Cup playoff series victory in only the team’s second season.
The Seattle Kraken have announced that Ron Francis, the only team in franchise history, has signed a three-year extension to remain with the club through 2026-27.
Francis joined the Kraken on July 18, 2019, over two seasons before the Kraken hit the ice for the first time. Francis had previously served as director of hockey operations, and, later, the GM of the Carolina Hurricanes in 2014. He was promoted to president of hockey operations in March of 2018 before getting terminated a month later.
The Kraken have built a solid young prospect pool, which includes high picks Matty Beniers and Shane Wright, as well as unsigned free agent star Tye Kartye.
