Marc Wilkinson, 55, who owns Pure Pizza, will give away the free food to Scots who visit his shop
A Kind-hearted Edinburgh takeaway owner has promised to give away thousands of pounds worth of pizza to help with the cost of living crisis.
The takeaway boss who opened his business in March 2020 hopes the act will benefit locals as well as staff and suppliers. He told the BBC: "I'm very happy with my plan because it's a win, win, win for everyone. The customers benefit, the suppliers benefit and my team of chefs benefit as it gives them more hours of work.
"I keep hearing about how the cost of living is affecting so many people and I just thought that my ovens are running all day anyway, so they may as well be working at full capacity all day if it helps people. Altruism is something that really interests me so I wanted to try it." Marc hopes the giveaway will encourage others to pass on the act of kindness in their own way. Customers who want to take advantage of the deal will only need to take a valid phone number to the shop.Don't miss the latest news from around Scotland and beyond - sign up to our daily newsletter here.
