Photo taken in Saskatoon, SK on Thursday, September 3, 2020.Unions representing school staff say the province’s shift toward a personal responsibility model for mitigating COVID-19 has left staff in a difficult position.

Why should I have to use sick leave if I’m not sick? I’ve just been exposed to a highly contagious virus,” he said. So that’s kind of the issue. And we’ve asked government on numerous occasions to get some clarification and have failed to receive any clarification on that issue.”

Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools staff who test positive will need to use their sick days in order to do so, spokesperson Derrick Kunz said.
