Members of the Anchorage teachers union voted to ratify an agreement with the school district for a new contract that includes salary increases, clearer expectations about time spent planning/in meetings, and a way for many to increase retirement savings.
. Following AEA’s vote, the agreement now goes to the school board for approval Tuesday.
Aist said students are struggling, families are hurting and staffing issues are increasing amid teacher departures and hiring challenges.
