Rochester, N.Y. (WHAM) — A woman was critically injured in an attack Thursday night on Dewey Avenue.
The area where the alleged domestic incident occurred on Dewey Avenue . )According to court paperwork, David Lampman , 54, used a machete to cause serious physical injuries to the woman — including cuts on her shoulder, chest, scalp, abdomen and lower back.
Police reported Lampman was involved in a domestic incident with an unidentified woman on Dewey Avenue around 10 p.m. Thursday. "These are very serious injuries and life-altering injuries," said Captain Greg Bello from the Rochester Police Department. "When officers arrived on scene, we located an adult-age female with incredibly significant wounds from some sort of edged weapon. She was transported to a local hospital where she was treated for injuries that were considered life-threatening. Thankfully, the medical staff there has been able to stabilize her.
According to court documents obtained by 13WHAM, Lampman is charged with attempted murder and assault."On the 19th, the following day on Friday, the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office located him at a gas station down in Dansville, New York," Bello said.
