Pratt's premier commercial product is well-positioned as air travel begins returning to pre-pandemic levels.

As of January 2022, the company is reporting over 10,000 orders and commitments from 80+ customers.

Technical dispatch reliability is a critical measure of performance reflecting the ability of airlines to execute schedules on time, and 99.98% is about as good as it gets for even the most mature engines. Some aviation authorities believe that eventually all turbofans will incorporate some variation on the geared configuration, because it is the only design feature that allows the fan and the low-pressure components further back to all turn at optimum speeds.

What the other companies can’t do is introduce gears; that will require all new engines that don’t violate Pratt patents—breakthroughs that took the company 20 years and $10 billion to perfect.
