BySEATTLE — Parents are scrambling to find temporary child care after classes were canceled for 50,000 Seattle Public Schools students.Wednesday morning when the first day of school was set to begin.
The programming is 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The extended hours will be free this week, but if the strike continues beyond Friday, the organization will start assessing fees for all-day programs. Boys & Girls Clubs officials said they are considering the possibility of welcoming new families but are still evaluating needs.
