Several events are planned for March in P.E.I. to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Rendez-vous la Francophonie. ContributedCHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — The P.E.I. francophone community is holding a series of events in March to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Rendez-vous de la Francophonie .
As part of the 2023 Canada Winter Games, two events are planned during the first week of March. At the Village Musical Acadien in Abram-Village on March 1 at 7 p.m., a free show featuring Sirène et Matelot and the Atlantic String Machine will take the stage as part of the Illumination Festival. Then, on March 12, the sixth edition of Soupart will be held at the Carrefour de I’Isle-Saint-Jean in Charlottetown from 12:30-3 p.m.
Several screenings of francophone films will also be held in March, including the screening of Phil Comeau’s L’Ordre secret at the Acadian Museum in Miscouche on March 19 at 2 p.m. and March 21 at 7 p.m.
