The workshop focuses on properly identifying vegetable pests and pathogens that cause disease in crops

A workshop put together by a pair of Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs crop specialists is coming to Desbarats in early-March.

The workshop focuses on the proper identification of vegetable pests and pathogens that cause disease in crops based on audience registration feedback along with a special emphasis on potatoes, carrots, onions, garlic, and brassica crops. “We were really impressed by the turnout in New Liskeard and Desbarats in 2019 when we hosted similar workshops,” Cranmer notes. “There is a lot of vegetable production in Northern Ontario and hopefully the timing is right that growers can attend before the growing season starts.

“It is so exciting to play a part in bringing in-person workshops to locations where Northern Ontario vegetable production is strong,” said Edith Orr, Manager of the Johnson Farmers Market
