The woman’s Cadillac SUV had been weaving in and out of the curb lane, according to a police report. The driver smelled of an alcoholic beverage, wobbled in her seat as she spoke, slurred her speech, and had bloodshot eyes. She said she had been golfing with friends. When asked if she had consumed any alcohol, the woman just smiled at the officer, according to the police report.
She had difficulty maintaining her balance during field sobriety tests. A breath test revealed her blood alcohol level was 0.215, well above the legal limit, according to the police report. She was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, blood alcohol content above the legal limit, speeding, and failing to drive in marked lanes.,Officers at 4:50 p.m. on Aug. 28 arrested a Florida man accused of trying to steal a $70 pair of Adidas tennis shoes from JCPenney.
A store loss prevention officer said he stopped the suspect as he attempted to leave the store without paying for the shoes. The suspect told officers he was heading to his truck in the parking lot to get his wallet.
