Raptors mailbag: Expect an unexpected big move this summer — but Masai Ujiri to the Wizards isn’t it
and looking at the Wizards. While the temptation is to roll one’s eyes, I guess I would ask if you have any thoughts about who would plant a story like this and what agendas might be at play. Hope you are doing well!Your temptation is wise and should be heeded. The latest Masai thing caught me by surprise, actually. I can’t see his agent putting it out there. Maybe the Wizards are sending back-channel signals they’d be interested.
Hi, Doug. I’m interested in your views on when media members call out an athlete or team for choking. Recent examples are the Bucks and Bruins, but from what I understand both teams were dealing with substantial injuries to some of their best players and were not the same teams in the playoffs as they were most of the regular season. It seems the term “choke” is often used more as a lazy cheap shot just to stir things up than an actually collapse due to nerves or something.
And I agree 100 per cent with what Giannis said about failure and the journey and the fact there’s only ever one team left standing and celebrating.
