Brad Marchand stepped up to be the voice of reason in the wake of fall-out from the NHL's decision to ban players from using Pride tape on their sticks.

I hate Brad Marchand but I do think. it is ridiculous that the NHL chose to ban these nights. Hockey Fights Cancer night is always a hit and Pride Night allows people to gain a better understanding of that community. Shame on the NHL.The back story to the NHL's new policy dates back to last season when a handful of players refused to wear rainbow-themed warmup jerseys on Pride nights, in most cases citing religious reasons.

"You'll probably see me with the pride tape on that night anyway," Philadelphia's Laughton told reporters."If they want to say something, they can."
