A new NintendoSwitch report could signal a longer wait than expected for the company's next system!
The Nintendo Switch is nearly six years old, and the system continues to see huge demand around the world. While there's been a lot of talk about the system's successor, Nintendo has made no announcement, and the company doesn't plan on slowing down production on the Switch.
For this fiscal year, Nintendo is aiming to sell 19 million units, and Bloomberg's sources say that the company plans to exceed that number in the next one, which would be quite unusual for a system so late in its lifespan! However, the outlet speculates that a new design for the system based on The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom could help to bolster demand this year.
While Nintendo has not announced a successor to the Nintendo Switch just yet, there are some small hints that the company is already working on software for it. It's been more than five years since Super Mario Odyssey's release, and nearly six since the release of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Follow-ups to both of those games would make a lot of sense for a new system's launch window, whenever that might be.

It’s Never Too Late to Switch CareersMillions of people have left their jobs this past year. According to Bonnie Dowling, a co-author of McKinsey’s recent Great Attrition report, this isn’t just a passing trend, or a pandemic-related change to the labor market. There’s been a fundamental shift in workers’ mentality, and their willingness to prioritize other things in their life beyond whatever job they hold. For some it means leaving their current organization to be successful on their own terms and for others it could mean stepping away from their career path entirely. But even when people are unhappy with their jobs, some feel an obligation to forge ahead because of the time and money they have invested or because “it’s too late for me to make a change.” Linear career paths are not as common as you think. If you’re worried that it’s too late or that they’re too old to make a change, a survey of of those who attempted to change their careers after age 45 showed that 82% made successful changes, and 87% were happy or very happy with the change. Know that life is an evolution. What makes sense for a 20-year-old you is not necessarily what makes sense for the 30-year-old you. Our lives change. We change. It’s OK to change our jobs and careers in response to these changes in and to our lives.
