New York City is about to embark upon a large-scale overhaul of its streets, taking space from cars and trucks in favor of pedestrians, cyclists and bus riders
A bill passed by the New York City Council on Wednesday requires the city to create a master plan every five years. The measure mandates annual benchmarks for significant increases in pedestrian space, bike lanes and bus lanes.
