Parts of the building do need to be rezoned, such as the restaurant, which Ivy said they plan to get underway soon, and they’re hopeful the process can go smoothly.
Since the building is zoned industrial, the brewery is already permitted use, and Greg said they have big plans for that. It will be named First Flight, in honour of the historic Alcock and Brown flight that launched outside the property, and if things go well, Greg said they hope to produce and sell beer not just across the province, but in other parts of the country.just down the road, as well as the building between the two structures.
“We're very excited about it,” she said. “Being that we have the customers already for Urban, we thought it was a nice addition to the neighbourhood. We're going to make it a little park sitting area that people can use and we'll have a nice little local flower shop there."
