The Lobster Hub Rollers are a new roller derby league created to serve Pictou and Colchester counties, on the properties of fun and inclusivity.SaltWire's Atlantic regional weather forecast for August 30, 2023 | SaltWireMeet the Lobster Hub Rollers . Founded in 2023, a group of friends got together to create an environment where new and experienced players could learn, support each other, and have fun.
After a lot of work behind the scenes, LHR has been working hard to organize two upcoming programs. The first is a Learn to Skate program which will take place over ten weeks at the Nova Scotia Community College Truro campus. This is for new players and skaters who are just getting a feel for roller skating and want to learn the basics.Along with the Learn to Skate program, they also offer a “derby fundamentals” program that will run for ten weeks.
President of the League, Casey “Basket Case” Marjerrison says the league is all about inclusivity and having fun.“There’s no age, shape, or size requirements to skate or play derby. It’s for everyone.” LHR serves people 18 and up; however, Halifax has youth programs for those interested.
