Miles Morales' lightsaber power finally gets a name in Marvel Comics.

Spoilers for Miles Morales: Spider-Man #10!In Marvel Comics, Miles Morales’ version of Spider-Man has a few unique powers that other spider-people do not, with his most recent one being a skill that mimics the energy sword nature of Star Wars’ iconic lightsaber.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT A visually stunning and, at first, a seemingly head-scratching power that stems from Miles’ oft-used Venom Blast, this electric-based attack is one that only recently debuted in comics a few months back in Miles Morales: Spider-Man #5 when fighting a villain going by the name of Rabble.

Finding a way to “shape” his Venom Blast power into the form of a sword, this very lightsaber-esque ability hasn’t had an official name since its premiere, with Miles now designating it as the “Venom-Saber.

One of Miles’ many exclusive spider-abilities, the Venom-Saber has quickly become a unique offensive technique that Miles has relied on ever since his spider-sense has gone on the fritz. Taking a naming cue from Star Wars’ influential lightsaber that it shares more than a passing resemblance to, Miles’ Venom-Saber not only rolls off the tongue as the perfect name for this attack but also falls in line with his other venom-based ability in his shockingly effective Venom Blast touch.

Miles' "Venom-Saber" Power Finally Has A Name By officially christening this new power as the Venom-Saber, Miles has taken another step forward in becoming his own spider-hero, further distancing himself from his friend and mentor in Peter Parker’s Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.
