Microsoft's AI for Accessibility program announced 7 new grantees that are working to improve the lives of people with disabilities
program that launched last year. The company has dedicated $25 million of grant money to reward startups, researchers, nonprofits and NGOs that use AI to develop tech that matters, focusing on three areas: employment, daily life and communication/connection. Today, the company announced its seven new grantees. is furthering its inclusive hiring work by developing an intuitive AI-powered chatbot to help employment seekers with cognitive disabilities better prepare for job interviews.
Each application is evaluated for Azure credits, Microsoft engineering support and supplementary funding for a period of 12 months from the date of the award. into the hands of people with game-changing ideas for assistive solutions in order to elevate the role of that tech in the disability community," This includes Azure Machine Learning, as well as Azure Cognitive Services that support computer vision, speech and language recognition and intelligent search among other capabilities.
