The city of Loveland has selected Tim Doran as the new chief of the Loveland Police Department, and he is expected to start at the beginning of next year.
The news, released by the city Thursday night, comes after a six-month, nationwide search for the person to replace former Chief Bob Ticer, who left the department earlier this year.
“Chief Doran brings experience and a commitment to keeping our community safe and the Loveland Police Department accountable,” City Manager Steve Adams said in the release. “He has demonstrated integrity to community policing, and I know he will make our city proud by moving our police department forward.”
From 2016 to 2019, the release added, he served as the director of service operations for Advanced Energy Industries.
