Local junior hockey teams gear up for the playoffs
The next time the Wellington Dukes and Trenton Golden Hawks play it will be in the OJHL post season.
Schedules aren’t out yet but the the Dukes, who finished second in the South-East Conference will take on the 7th place St. Michaels Buzzers while the 4th place Golden Hawks open at home against the Cobourg Cougars. Game 1 in that series will be in Trenton Friday night.The winner will advance to the Centennial Cup May 13th to the 21st in Portage La Prairie Manitoba.In the Provincial Junior “C” Hockey League all 6 teams in the East-Tod Division will see playoff action.
The first place Napanee Raiders and second place Amherstview Jets will receive a bye in the first round. The third place Picton Pirates will take on the sixth place Campbellford Rebels while the Port Hope Panthers meet the Frankford Huskies. Both series are best of 7.Fri. March 10 – Frankford at Port Hope 8pmWed. March 15 -Franford at Port Hope 7pm
