PM asked to show evidence of claim India killed a Canadian citizen on Canadian soil.
To his supporters, Nijjar was a husband, a father, a plumber and an advocate of a Sikh homeland known as Khalistan. To the Indian government, Nijjar was a wanted terrorist accused of being involved in several violent incidents and someone who should be brought to justice.
“We need to know all the evidence possible so that Canadians can make judgments on that,” Poilievre said Tuesday. “No specific information has been shared by Canada on this case. We are willing to look at any specific information, we have conveyed this to the Canadians,” Indian External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said Thursday. The government of Narendra Modi is hardly to be believed on this or many other issues, but it still remains imperative for Trudeau to put some evidence in the public sphere.
